Kingstown Waste Management Facility

The Kingstown Waste Management Facility is located off Bendemeer Road and is open Wednesdays 8:30am - 3:30pm and Saturdays 10am - 2pm. The facility is closed on Christmas Day, Anzac Day and Easter Public Holidays. Commercial loads are not accepted at this facility.


Recycling and Waste Disposal Services

The following items can be deposited for recycling and disposal at the Kingstown Waste Management Facility:

  • Paper and Cardboard
  • Glass Bottles
  • Household plastics
  • Metal
  • General household rubbish

Paper & Cardboard

Paper & Cardboard Recycling

  • Cardboard boxes (please remove staples & flatten)
  • Cardboard sleeves from food or other packaging, e.g. tubes from toilet roll
  • Other boxes – cereal boxes, cling wrap boxes (with the metal tear strip and plastic removed)
  • Newspapers, catalogues, magazines, junk mail
  • Clean food containers or packaging
  • Drink cartons without foil lining, e.g. juice and milk cartons (please rinse and remove lids)
  • Envelopes with windows, but not padding
  • Gift wrap – non metallic (please remove plastic bows and other materials)
  • Greeting cards
  • Shredded paper
  • Telephone directories
  • Office paper

Plastic

Plastic Recycling

  • Hard plastic bottles, empty (e.g. bleach or detergent, fabric conditioner)
  • Fruit punnets and trays
  • Plastic tubs, clean (e.g. Margarine tubs, yoghurt pots - please remove lids)
  • Milk bottles
  • Mineral water bottles, soda bottles
  • Clean plastic pots
  • Shampoo and dish detergent bottles

Glass

Glass Recycling

  • Bottles (juice, mineral water, soda, wine)
  • Jars (e.g. jam jars, pasta sauce)
  • Light bulbs

Please remove all lids and ensure the container is clean. Drinking glasses, window glass, mirror glass, Pyrex dishes, and broken glass is not accepted.

Metal

Aluminium, Tin & Steel Recycling

  • Aerosol cans (must be empty, plastic lid removed)
  • Aluminium drink cans
  • Aluminium foil, clean and scrunched into a ball (e.g. yoghurt foil lids, Easter egg wrapping)
  • Aluminium trays, clean
  • Biscuit tins
  • Food tins (e.g. tinned food, biscuits, sweets, pet food)
