Bundarra Township has joined Uralla Township under Level 2 water restrictions, effective immediately.
Water storage levels have fallen below 62 per cent, triggering the escalation of restrictions for all properties connected to the town water supply in Bundarra. Uralla Township has been on Level 2 restrictions since February.
Mayor Robert Bell said the decision to move Bundarra to Level 2 restrictions was necessary to protect the Shire’s long‑term water supply.
“With river levels continuing to decline, it’s important we act early and responsibly to manage our water resources,” the Mayor said. “Introducing Level 2 restrictions now will help slow demand and put us in a stronger position moving forward.”
Council continues to closely monitor water storage levels, weather conditions and projected demand to ensure long‑term water security for the community.
“Everyone has a role to play in conserving water, and I encourage you to carefully review and comply with the Level 2 requirements now in place,” Mayor Bell said.
Under Level 2 water restrictions, key measures include:
- Lawn and garden watering permitted only between 6am and 8am OR 4pm and 6pm (not both) on alternate days, using a hand‑held hose fitted with a trigger nozzle.
- Even‑numbered houses: Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
- Odd‑numbered houses: Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.
- No watering permitted on Mondays.
- Vehicle washing by bucket, or by hose for no longer than 30 minutes.
- Cleaning of hard surfaces is prohibited, unless using high‑pressure equipment.
- Restrictions also apply to topping up private swimming pools and other discretionary water uses.
