Draft Community Engagement Strategy

On display until 30 January 2025, 05:00 PM

Published 19/12/2024

The Community Engagement Strategy outlines how Council engages with the community on projects, policies, and activities, while the Community Participation Plan focuses on community involvement in planning matters such as Development Applications.

These plans are required under the Local Government Act 1993 and Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979 and need to be reviewed within 3 months of a Council election. Key updates include:

  • Integrating the Community Participation Plan into the Community Engagement Strategy into a single document.
  • Simplifying language and using more modern engagement tools, such as social media.
  • Updating criteria for public notification and referral of Development Applications.

The revised documents aim to streamline engagement processes and improve clarity and accessibility.

Submissions are welcome until close of business on 30 January and can be sent by email to council@uralla.nsw.gov.au. Click the link below to view the draft documents and provide your feedback.
