Mayor's Message - 22 December 2020
Published on 22 December 2020
As we come to the end of the year, we take this time to reflect on the hard work we’ve done and what we’ve achieved over the past twelve months.
Together we have accomplished a great deal: from delivering a near-record level capital works program, completing a number of projects delivered under State and Federal government grant funding, and securing more grant funding to deliver more projects and best serve our community.
If you haven’t yet watched the slideshow running in Council’s Customer Service foyer, Rod Eichorn’s storefront at 90 Bridge Street, or on our facebook page, I do hope you’ll check it out.
At Council’s December ordinary meeting we formally recognised many staff for their years of dedication and meritorious service to Uralla Shire Council.
A most special congratulations to Dale Harris and Lindsay Ward, who retire this year after dedicated and honourable careers serving Council for 25 and 35 years, respectively.
I’d also like to take this opportunity to thank all the community groups and individual volunteers who continue to contribute and make our Shire the wonderful place it is.
Despite numerous changes and the unprecedented challenges of 2020, the Uralla Shire came together as a community. It is a community I am proud to be a part of and represent.
For everyone planning to travel during the holidays, please take care on the roads by giving yourself ample travel time, keeping within the speed limits and remembering to take sufficient breaks. Whether you’re driving close to home or going further afield, any time you head out on the road choose safety this season, drive safely and apply your COVIDSafe measures.
On behalf of Council, I’d like to wish everyone a festive and safe holiday season. I look forward to another successful year ahead.
Mayor, Cr Michael Pearce
