Council has recently implemented a new organisational structure, following a comprehensive internal consultation process. This restructure reflects Council’s commitment to improving how services are delivered to the community, ensuring resources are used effectively and teams are aligned to meet both current and future needs.
The restructure also responds to recent amendments to the Local Government Act 1993, which streamline senior staffing requirements across NSW councils. Council used this opportunity to refine reporting lines and leadership responsibilities, strengthening oversight across key functions and formalising arrangements that have already been working well in practice.
As part of the restructure, the Director Infrastructure and Development, Mick Raby, has also been designated Deputy General Manager. Myles McLindin continues in the role of Group Manager Infrastructure Services, reporting to the Director Infrastructure and Development. Steven Williams has taken on the role of Interim Group Manager Corporate Services pending the outcome of the formal recruitment process, reporting directly to the General Manager, while Blake Dyer has been formally appointed as Group Manager Community Services, also reporting to the General Manager.
Community members will recognise these familiar faces, as each has been a valued part of Council for some time. This restructure represents a strategic realignment of responsibilities, aimed at ensuring Council’s core business functions operate with maximum efficiency and effectiveness. It also supports a more agile, responsive, and community-focused organisation, with improved accountability and service delivery across all departments.
Council remains focused on maintaining strong leadership and delivering high-quality services to the Uralla Shire community.
